Your habits have a lot to do with where you are in life. Success and failure can often be related to them and you should acknowledge what you’re doing daily and what you should do instead. Here are some of the habits of the most successful people. Develop them and your life will definitely change.

 

Wake up early

Did you know that waking up extremely early is one of the most common habits that nearly all extraordinary people practice? Well, now you know. Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple, which is among the must successful companies in the entire world, says that he usually wakes up very early – at around 3.45 am –  to start reading and responding emails. Richard Branson, the billionaire chairman and the Virgin Group founder has repeatedly said during interviews that he usually wakes up at around 5.45 am every morning to exercise.

In other words, extraordinarily successful people usually choose to wake up very early to start off their day. They want to have more personal time for working on side projects, exercising and so on.

So, you should wake up earlier if you want to be healthy and successful. Wake up, get moving, exercise and plan what you want to do during the day. This way, you will not only have good health but you will also be more productive and accomplish more.

 

Read every day

Of course, everybody knows that reading is very important. However, most people stopped reading books at the time they graduated from school or college. If you can get one idea from a book each month, it means that by reading just a book a month you get twelve new ideas in a year.  These ideas are may totally change your life. Bill Gates who is among the richest people in the world says that reading for about an hour is a part of his bedtime routine.

The founder of Telsa and SpaceX, Elon Musk, said that he learned how to build rockets by reading books. This is usually his answer to reporters every time they ask him how he successfully learned to build rockets.

Extraordinarily successful people know that reading books is a great way to gain knowledge.

 

Exercise

Your body is not made to be still for hours. Therefore, you should  exercise regularly if you want to have good health. It also gives you more energy.

Most people spend their time sitting down for many hours at a time in their offices while facing their computers. Even though this is how work is done these days, sitting down for long periods is bad for you. If you don’t have a workout routine then you are obviously not going to have good health.

Barack Obama, the the ex-president of the United States, says that he makes sure that he sweats for at least 45 minutes every day for six days a week. And when reporters ask the founder and owner of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg how he is able to maintains good health and remains productive, he says that he usually works out very early in the morning for at least three times every week. Richard Branson says that rock climbing, playing tennis, running, yoga, surfing and swimming are some of his daily physical activities.

 

Work hard

Successful people, unlike unsuccessful ones, have the ability to work really hard to achieve what they want. Instead of simply talking about their goals and dreams, successful people usually take action and work hard on those dreams to make them come true.

Observe yourself and find out whether you are the type that only talks about dreams and goals but doesn’t put in any effort to achieve those dreams. You should understand that success is not about what you keep on saying you will do, but what you do. Therefore, drop the habit of talking and adopt the habit of taking action. You should start doing something about your goals today.

 

Visualize

One of the most important successful habits you must develop for you to be successful is to visualize that very success you are working to achieve every day. Jim Carrey, who is among the most successful and celebrated Hollywood actors has said “I would visualize things coming to me. It would just make me feel better. Visualization works if you work hard. That’s the thing. You can’t just visualize and go eat sandwich”.

Any professional athlete will tell you that he or she includes visualization as part of his or her mental training. In basketball, football, netball and many other sports, visualization plays a critical role in the minds of professional players. In fact, one study which was conducted among basketball players shows that players who usually visualize shooting in their minds can improve the same way as players who practically go through vigorous physical shooting training.

Good thing is, anyone can visualize. It is actually a valuable tool that is freely available for all people and anyone can use it.

 

Make the work fun

Successful people have passion. In fact, passion is a must-have habit for anyone to be successful in whatever they are doing. Remarkable people love their work very much.  For you to be more productive, you have to make your work fun for yourself.

Most people don’t like what they do and they hate their jobs. This is the main reason why Friday afternoon is the best day for most people. It’s the happiest day for the people who do not like their jobs. These people experience Monday blues and they’re always waiting for the next weekend.

People who are love what they do will always feel inspired just because they are passionate about what they do. In his own words, Richard Branson says “if you find what you are truly passionate about, then finding your career will not be too far away.” Hence, find out what you are passionate about, and love whatever you are doing.

 

Plan and prioritize

As the old adage goes, failing to plan is simply planning to fail. Of course, things sometimes don’t go as you had planned. However, it’s much better to have a plan that fails than no plan at all.

Remarkable people achieve extraordinary results in what they do because they plan, prioritize and work hard on the most important things. Instead of spending their time and energy working on  things that don’t actually matter, they find what the key things to work on are.

So, if you want to achieve the results you desire, you should plan and prioritize the most important tasks. Before you go to bed, write down what you should accomplish the next day. Be sure to prioritize whatever you want to get done.

 

Network with other remarkable people

Ask any successful person and they will tell you that your future is partly determined by the type of people you interact with. Birds of the same feathers flock together, or so they say. So, for you to be a successful person, you must network with people who are trying to do the same.

Jim Rob says that a person has an average of the 5 people he or she mixes with. Therefore, look at your circle and find out what kind of people you interact with the most. Are you interacting with friends that only complain and blame other people most of the time? Or do you spend time, make friends and network with successful and positive people who support you and encourage you to go higher?

 

Giving back

Giving back is another habit possessed by successful people. It’s something they truly believe in. Bill Gates and Warren Buffet started the Giving Back Pledge which is a campaign that aims at encouraging the world’s billionaires to give to charity. Among donors who have joined are Paul Allen, Mark Zuckerberg, Elon Musk, Michael Blumberg and Larry Ellison.

When you give back a part of what you have gained, you’re telling yourself that you have the ability to help others and are motivated to do more.
